Today, I’m thrilled to introduce the launch of the new LucidLink — the next step on our journey to empower teams to work together seamlessly from anywhere.
Since we founded LucidLink in 2016, our mission has been to make data instantly and securely accessible everywhere. Along the way, we’ve been removing the roadblocks that slow teams down, disrupt collaboration and stop you from focusing on what matters most: creating.
The new LucidLink will be a huge leap towards this goal, expanding our storage collaboration platform’s powerful real-time performance across desktop, web and mobile. It’s the same magical experience our customers know and love — now simpler to deploy, easier to use and available across the creative touch points you use every day.
Whether you’re in the office, at home or on the go, your team can now instantly and securely access files and collaborate in real time as if you’re working side by side.
Before I dive into the details, I want to thank the incredible teams at LucidLink, especially Engineering and Product. And to you, our users, who’ve shared feedback and pushed us to think bigger — thank you. This release is for you.
Built to solve your toughest challenges
This new product is shaped by everything we’ve learned from our customers over the years.
Today’s teams are no longer confined to a single office, or even a single continent. You’re working with larger files on the go, collaborating across time zones and striving to maintain momentum on complex projects.
But too often, outdated tools, file access or management headaches and security concerns stand in the way.
We’ve heard you loud and clear. You need a platform that scales with your business, adapts to any team size and frees you to work from anywhere. With this release, we’ve reimagined our platform to tackle these problems head-on, giving your team more time and space to focus on what you do best.
Making collaboration seamless, everywhere
I’ve talked about the why. Now, let’s get into the how. Here’s how the new LucidLink empowers your team with faster, smarter and smoother workflows.
Real-time collaboration across platforms
The initial release focuses on a next-generation desktop and web experience. Future updates will unlock real-time collaboration across all creative touchpoints, including mobile, giving teams even more freedom to connect and create.
For years, we’ve seen the challenges of working with large datasets and distributed teams. Now you can instantly access your data across platforms. No downloading or syncing needed.
A unified experience, everywhere
We hear it all the time: once you’re up and running, LucidLink just works. You might even forget it’s there. But while our platform blends almost unnoticed into your workflow, we still want it to be a joy to use.
With our new user experience, the features you rely on are easy to find, intuitive to use and look great, too! Whether you’re jumping between desktop and browser, managing files, inviting collaborators or handling permissions, our updated UI makes it effortless.
Faster onboarding, simpler setup
When you’re trying to get stuff done, getting new team members or freelancers up to speed quickly is critical.
That’s why our onboarding process is now faster and easier than ever — all it takes is a simple link to get your team started. I know mac users will also be particularly delighted with this update! No more rebooting or adjusting security settings, you can get straight to work.
One account for all your projects
Our new global user model means team members can access all their filespaces with a single account, taking LucidLink with them wherever they go.
Freelancers, for example, can now join multiple filespaces without juggling logins or managing multiple accounts — streamlining workflows for both individuals and companies.
Scalable storage, sensible pricing
Whether you’re a freelancer, small studio or manage a global team, we know things change fast. We’ve got you covered.
With our new AWS partnership, every plan now includes egress-free, scalable, high-performance storage. For teams on our Enterprise plan, there’s still the flexibility to bring your own S3 compatible storage if preferred. Meanwhile, our updated user-based pricing model means we’re providing sensible pricing for projects big and small.
What’s next?
The all-new LucidLink is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we’ll be rolling out new features in phases to keep improving your experience.
Here’s a quick look at what’s coming:
Mobile apps for Android and iOS will put real-time access to your files right in the palm of your hand.
Web browsing and web upload let you collaborate on shared files with ease, allowing drag-and-drop uploads directly from your browser — no desktop app required.
External link sharing means you can securely share files with anyone, again, no desktop app necessary.
To ensure companies of all sizes fully benefit from these updates, we’re already working on advanced user roles, extra security layers and a filespace upgrade tool. These developments are designed to give you even more freedom to collaborate, no matter where your team is located or what platform they’re using.
Building for the future of collaboration
At LucidLink, we know your data is mission-critical. It should always be instantly accessible, secure and simple to manage. That’s why the all-new LucidLink isn’t just built for today — it’s designed to adapt as your workflows evolve.
This release lays the foundation for even more powerful tools and features to come. No matter what the future holds, our focus remains the same: building a platform that empowers your team to collaborate seamlessly from anywhere.
