Creating an animated series or film requires managing a team of creatives engaged in a constant flow of artwork, modeling, rigging, rendering, and animating across every frame in a constant iterative cycle. You may assume that asset and workflow management is challenging with a co-located team, let alone a remote group of collaborators. In 2023, the first remotely produced film to win an Oscar was the animated short The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse, which was done entirely remotely with 120 creatives in over 20 countries.
